PREMA, Ugochukwu secure second consecutive podium finish

R09 Hungaroring - FIA Formula 3 Race 1 Report

Ugo Ugochukwu and PREMA Racing achieved their second consecutive podium finish with a second place in the Hungaroring Sprint Race. The American had a strong start from sixth place on the grid and quickly gained ground at the start. After moving up to P5, he then delivered three blistering overtakes to get up to second. Using the pace he already showed in qualifying, he set his sights on P1, although a late safety car prevented him from maximizing his chances.

Brando Badoer secured his second points finish of the season with a quick and consistent run that followed his positive qualifying yesterday and highlighted the impressive progress made throughout the year.

Noel Leon was unfortunately involved in a collision after showing an equally impressive performance level. The Mexican was gaining spots starting from P13 but was sidelined by the damage. Still, with the remarkable pace, the PREMA Racing teammates are looking forward to tomorrow's Feature Race.

#1 BRANDO BADOER

"Solid result with P6 in the Sprint Race in Budapest and good points. The pace was not bad, although we have to improve tyre life. That's the main area where we have to work on for tomorrow, when the race is going to be longer. We keep pushing, and let's see what we can do for tomorrow."

#2 NOEL LEÓN

"A disappointing result in the Sprint Race. We had much more pace and recovered from P13 to P8. We were going to make more moves until the incident happened. Disappointing to see racing like that. We will now try to analyse everything and try to be even faster tomorrow. We know we can recover more positions."

#3 UGO UGOCHUKWU

"Really good Sprint Race in Hungaroring. Starting from P6, the pace was great, and we made some good moves, climbing up to P2. A really positive result on a track where it's usually tricky to overtake. When I moved to P3, I thought I was going to struggle with the tyres, but I managed to keep them until the end. We were challenging for the lead, but unfortunately, we got a safety car towards the end of the race, which made it tricky. We got good points, and I look forward to tomorrow to try to make another comeback."
