PREMA Racing made a good display of potential today as the FIA Formula 3 Championship got underway with qualifying at the Hungaroring. Once again, the team's three cars proved great potential.
Ugo Ugochukwu was fast from the get-go and looked set to be among the top pole competitors. Unfortunately, he was prevented from maximizing his final run due to a traffic buildup that hampered his preparations. Ugochukwu qualified in P7, but can rely on promising potential.
Brando Badoer put together a solid effort to secure P8, as he managed to build his confidence and make his way back into the top 10. He will be in a solid position for both races.
Noel Leon also showcased promise, but couldn't put everything together in the final run. He will take off twice from P13, missing out on pole position by a thin margin.
#1 BRANDO BADOER
"Good qualy here in Budapest. The practice was a bit messy, but we understood the way to go. Step by step, we improved in qualifying, and at the end, we managed to put it in P8, which is a good starting position for both races. Gaps are really small, we look forward to doing our best in the races."
#2 NOEL LEÓN
"Really difficult qualifying at the end, I could see the potential is really good, and we didn't maximize it with the last set. We couldn't improve, and it's a bit of a shame because there was something more within the car. It's disappointing to miss the reverse grid pole by one race. We just didn't maximize the package. Let's focus on the races: we'll try to move forward."
#3 UGO UGOCHUKWU
"We were really strong throughout qualy and we were in contention for pole all the way, but we didn't manage to get a last run, so we fell down to P7. We'll see what we can do in the races and get back some positions."
