PREMA Racing heads back South to Birmingham, Alabama for the fourth round of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, following a milestone Indy debut at the recent Open Test.
The second road course of the season at Barber Motorsports Park kicks off the month of May, marking the first of five successive weekends of INDYCAR action and is the perfect starter before the series heads to Indianapolis.
The 17-turn circuit is known for its high-speed corners, undulating layout and physical nature which challenges both drivers and engineers alike, making it a firm favourite on the calendar.
Two-stop vs. three-stop strategies will come into play at Barber, as seen in previous years, with track position often dictating pit calls and finishing positions coming down to final stints. Despite the twisty nature of the circuit, decisive moves can be made into the Turn Five hairpin.
PREMA Racing’s drivers Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman both arrive at Barber Motorsports Park with prior experience of the track. Ilott previously finished 13th in the 2023 running of the race, while Shwartzman has previously tested here.
Piers Phillips - CEO, PREMA Racing INDYCAR
“Barber is a circuit that rewards precision and smart strategy. It can be a challenge for teams but, with both our drivers having previous experience, we should be better-prepared for this round than the street courses we previously had not visited. This weekend we are looking to take another step forward in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, with each being a learning opportunity for us – especially as this marks the start of back-to-back races and the month of May.”
