Biography

Born in Australia, Ryan Briscoe made a name for himself in karting around Europe and particularly in Italy. He made his single-seater debut in late 2000 with PREMA and secured the 2001 Italian Formula Renault title in 2001. He stayed with the team for Formula 3 from 2002 to 2003, when he won the Formula 3 Euro Series. Coming up under the Toyota Young Driver Program, he was a test driver for the Japanese F1 team but soon moved to America, debuting in the IndyCar Series and in the Grand-Am championship. He was third in IndyCar in 2009, driving for Penske Racing, and continued to race single seaters until 2015, when he moved a full switch to endurance. In 2020, he won his first 24 Hours of Daytona (two more followed) and achieved multiple wins in several classes including two at the Sebring 12 Hours.
